Assiniboia offers the following recycling services:

Assiniboia Compost Inc.

Regular Pickup

  • Monday after 6:00 pm: East Side of Town
  • Friday after 6:00 pm: West Side of Town

Compost materials include:

  • Coffee grounds
  • Corn cobs
  • Egg shells
  • Flowers
  • Fruit
  • Grass clippings
  • Hay
  • Leaves
  • Sawdust
  • Straw
  • Tea bags
  • Tea leaves
  • Vegetables
  • Wood chips

Will not be collected: meat scraps, pet waste, tree branches.

Paper Recycling Depot

Drop off blue bins are located throughout the community for your convenience and are available on a commercial and residential level. The bins are located at the Assiniboia Civic Centre, Trailer Court, ACHS, Bargain Shop parking lot and the Asaskan Complex parking lot.

SARCAN Recycling Depot

  • Phone: (306) 642-3531
  • Tuesday - Saturday: 9:00 am - 11:45 am and 1:00 pm - 5:15pm
    • Closed Tuesday after a Holiday Monday. Closed between Christmas and New Year's
    • Plastic, glass and tetra pak beverage containers, and aluminum cans are accepted. Also, computers, monitors, printers, and televisions, as well as containers of leftover paint, are accepted at SARCAN.
