The Assiniboia & District Museum's theme is the growth of Assiniboia, specifically using Main Street as the example, from its first residents in 1912 to modern day. It is the most modern and one of the most impressive museums in south central Saskatchewan.
Much of the heritage of Western Canada traces its roots through the Assiniboia district. A stroll down the boardwalk will bring you back in time to our prairie town of 1912. Meet the pioneers, our forefathers, who braved the elements and had the courage to embark on a journey across the vast prairie to the unknown.

The first thing that you see when you walk into the museum is a grain elevator! Actually it's the reception area with images of the 1904 Assiniboia Grain Growers elevator rising up in the background. From there you will start your tour back into the history of our town, with displays such as stores, offices and a school room, a collection of over 20 classic cars from 1916-1950, farm equipment and a Pole trail display.
Within its walls, the Assiniboia District Museum salutes these visionaries of our past.
