Parents Required to Accompany:

All children 6 and under must be supervised by an adult (16 years or older) within arm’s reach in the pool. Up to three children 6 and under can be supervised by an adult. This rule is our policy during all rentals and public swims to ensure the safety of our patrons.

The rental fee includes use of the main pool and lifeguard supervision. All individuals under the age of 14 must be supervised by an adult 16 years or older.

The Pool does not give cash refunds for cancelled rentals. The renter will be given a letter of credit, which can be applied to lessons, passes or future rentals at the Aquatics Centre. Rentals will commence in all weather conditions with the exception of lightning. Medical notes are required if the renter must cancel due to medical circumstances. Any other extraneous circumstances requiring cancellation require advanced notice of at least 48 hours to receive a pool credit and will be at the discretion of the manager.

What types of weather conditions call for swimming to be cancelled?

Lightning, thunder, sever wind  and heavy hail are hazards to patrons and staff, and will result in public swimming, and /or swimming lessons being cancelled or postponed until it is safe to return to the water. In addition, heavy rain, which prevents the bottom of the pool from being visible to lifeguarding staff, is cause for cancellation.

How long after thunder and lightning do I have to wait before returning to the water?

Swimmers must wait 30 minutes from the time of the last lightning strike before returning to the water or taking a shower.

Do I get a refund if there is lightning or other severe weather while I am swimming?

During public swimming, patrons will receive a credit for admission. Should there be lightning during swimming lessons, instructors will run a dry lesson to cover the safety requirements of the course.  In terms of rentals at the pool, credit will be provided which may be used towards another rental, swimming lessons, season passes, or public swim.

How old does my child have to be to go swimming on his own?

Children 6 and under must be accompanied by chaperone of 16 or older. In addition, children 6 and under must be within an arm’s reach of their chaperone at all times.
